From an understanding to a new chapter
For years, Harrie Bosch Modestoffen was a household name among fashion enthusiasts, couturiers, and creative makers. It was a shop where people from all over the Netherlands came for special fabrics and personal advice.
Six years ago, we took over the business. Not just any takeover, but a place where we ourselves had been happy customers for years. We immediately recognized what made Harrie Bosch so special: the love for quality, an eye for unique fabrics, and a passion for the craft.
That foundation has always remained.
Under the name 040 Design Fabrics, we are building on the same vision, but with a contemporary look and a collection that is constantly innovating.
Fabrics with a good story
We believe the most beautiful clothes start with the right fabric.
That's why we work exclusively with deadstock designer fabrics. No mass production, but exclusive fabrics sourced from overproductions by European fashion houses and high-quality textile manufacturers.
This means every fabric is special. Often, only limited meters are available, and once a quality is sold out, it usually doesn't return.
Our collection consists of carefully selected fabrics with character. From luxurious wool and supple linen to refined silk and exclusive designer qualities. Fabrics that inspire you to create something unique.
Always looking for something special
Our search for exceptional fabrics never stops.
Almost every week we add new qualities to our collection. This means that with every visit you'll discover new colors, designs, and materials.
Our assortment now consists of more than 12,000 unique fabrics, and we are among the largest suppliers of wool, linen, and silk in the Netherlands.
Not because we want to be the biggest, but because we believe that a remarkable collection is created by continuously making careful selections. Quality always comes first in this process.
Personal advice, globally delivered
Although our fabrics now reach customers all over the world, personal contact remains important to us.
A large part of our collection can be viewed online via our webshop, but not everything we have is listed there.

Step into the world of textile design and be surprised by the possibilities. Emily Hermans (MLY) will take you on a creative journey where your unique design comes to life.
How does it work?
Emily has years of experience in developing unique prints and will guide you step by step. During the workshop, you will have the freedom to create a design in your own way.
Whether you want to use drawings, clippings, photos, or other materials, a lot is possible (you can even bring your own photos and materials!).
You don't need to have experience or be a seasoned creative; together with Emily, you will create your personal print that perfectly suits you.
What does the day look like?
- 10:00-10:15 Reception
- 10:15-11:00 Introduction (presentation)
- 11:00-11:30: Workshop explanation
- 11:30-15:00 workshop with lunch, coffee and tea
- in between
And the end result?
A day full of inspiration and 2 meters of fabric with your own unique print, with which you can shine in a self-made outfit!
